Twin-engine Eurocopter EC155 helicopter on the helipad before a private flight in Italy

By Helicopter

Italy from the air, in a single day.

Private helicopter day trips and transfers arranged with an established Milan-based operator — the lakes, the vineyards, the coast and the Alps, reached in minutes rather than hours.

A helicopter day trip means a private aircraft and crew reserved for your party, a departure from a Milan-area heliport, and an itinerary agreed before you fly. The same aircraft is used for point-to-point transfers — Milan to Portofino, Venice, St. Moritz, Porto Cervo or Monaco — when the road would take the better part of a day.

Day Trips Italia does not operate aircraft. Flights are arranged with an independent Italian air operator, in the same way our road journeys are arranged with independent chauffeur partners. Every flight is subject to aircraft availability, weather and landing authorisations, and is quoted before anything is committed.

Ground transport to and from the heliport is arranged alongside the flight — see private transfers or the day trips by road.

Questions

Private helicopter flights in Italy — frequently asked

Where do the helicopter flights depart from?
Flights are arranged with a Milan-based air operator and depart from a heliport in the Milan area. Ground transport from your hotel, villa or airport to the heliport is arranged alongside the flight.
How many passengers can travel?
Between five and eight depending on the aircraft: up to six on the single-engine Eurocopter EC130, five on the Agusta A109, six on the AgustaWestland AW109 SP and up to eight on the twin-engine Eurocopter EC155. Passenger numbers are confirmed at booking.
Which day trips are possible by helicopter?
Lake Como, Lake Maggiore and the Borromean Islands, Lake Orta and Isola San Giulio, Franciacorta, the Langhe, and a full day in Venice. Several itineraries include a landing for lunch at a lakeside restaurant, an agriturismo or a Michelin-starred address.
Can a helicopter be used as a transfer instead of a car?
Yes. Direct flights are arranged to Forte dei Marmi, Florence, Portofino, Bormio, St. Moritz, Porto Cervo, Saint-Tropez and Monaco. Cross-border flights carry customs and landing fees quantified in the quotation.
How is a helicopter flight priced and confirmed?
The concierge collects the route, date and number of passengers and comes back with a quotation from the operator, including landing taxes. Extras such as catering, tastings, car transfers or meet-and-greet away from the base are quoted separately. Nothing is committed before you confirm.
What happens if the weather does not allow the flight?
Helicopter flights are always subject to weather and to landing authorisations. If conditions do not allow it, the operator proposes a new slot or the day is rearranged by road — the concierge handles the alternative with you.
