How do I book private transportation in Milan?

Send a message to the Day Trips Italia concierge with your pickup location, destination, date, time and number of passengers. We verify availability with a trusted local partner, come back to you with the vehicle and chauffeur, and handle every detail until you arrive.

Can I arrange a last-minute private transfer in Milan?

Yes. Same-day requests in Milan are handled by our local partner network. Lead time is typically two to four hours, depending on the vehicle category and the time of day. Write to the concierge and we'll confirm availability immediately.

What is the best way to travel from Milan Malpensa (MXP) to Milan?

A pre-arranged private transfer is the most discreet option. The chauffeur meets you airside or in arrivals with a personalised sign, handles your luggage, and drives you directly to your hotel or residence — no queues, no negotiation, no language friction.

Is a Mercedes V-Class available in Milan?

Yes. The V-Class is the default choice in Milan for groups of three to seven passengers, for families travelling with luggage, and for transfers continuing on to Lake Como or other destinations. An S-Class executive sedan is available for one or two passengers who prefer a lower profile.

Do you handle transfers to and from the Milan cruise port?

Yes. Cruise transfers are coordinated around your ship's published arrival or departure window, with luggage assistance and a pre-agreed meeting point at the terminal.

Can I book transportation in English, Italian, Arabic, Chinese or Spanish?

Yes. The concierge replies in your own language — English, Italian, French, German, Spanish, Arabic, Chinese, Portuguese and Russian among others. Chauffeurs are briefed in advance on any language preferences.

Can I request transportation for multiple destinations during the same day?

Yes. Multi-stop itineraries are arranged as a single full-day or half-day chauffeur engagement. One vehicle, one driver, one quotation — your schedule is followed as it evolves through the day.

Can I request a chauffeur for an entire day in Milan?

Yes. Full-day chauffeur (typically up to ten hours, with overtime available) covers any combination of meetings, sightseeing, shopping or dining. The driver remains assigned to you throughout.

Linate or Malpensa: which Milan airport is right for you?

Linate is about 8 km from central Milan, Malpensa 45 km. Distance, trains, taxi fares and flight network compared, with what changes if you arrive with a driver.

The short answer

Choose by your flight first and by your hotel second. Linate is a city airport, about 8 km from central Milan according to the airport operator, SEA. Malpensa is the intercontinental gateway, 45 km from the centre. Most travellers do not choose: the itinerary does.

Distance and flights

Linate handles mainly domestic and intra-European traffic. Malpensa has Terminal 1 for domestic, international and intercontinental flights and Terminal 2 dedicated to easyJet; SEA's 2025 ESG report records 56 long-haul routes from Malpensa. Check your own flight: the network changes by season.

By train and metro

From Linate the M4 metro reaches San Babila in 12 minutes, on the standard 90-minute ticket at EUR 2.20; San Babila connects to the M1 line for the Duomo. From Malpensa the Malpensa Express costs EUR 15 one way for adults: from Terminal 1 about 38 minutes to Cadorna or 51 to 54 minutes to Centrale; Terminal 2 adds roughly six minutes to Cadorna. Always check the timetable for your train.

By taxi

From Malpensa the Comune di Milano publishes a fixed taxi fare of EUR 114 to any city street, motorway tolls included (tariff sheet updated July 2024, check the current one). From Linate there is no fixed fare: the ride is metered.

Driving time

We give no fixed minutes: the road to Malpensa varies a lot with traffic, particularly on Friday afternoons, while Linate is close to the centre. Plan a buffer when you have a meeting or a connection.

With a private driver

Whichever airport, the driver meets you inside, handles the luggage and the road time stops being your problem. This matters most at Malpensa, where the distance is larger.
